To our Victorian Members
The current COVID-19 pandemic highlights the importance of staying safe and informed.
Today’s announcement by the Premier will impact the crane industry and construction sector in the following ways:
- Hardware stores are permitted to remain open for tradespeople only
- Your business is required to have a COVIDSafe Plan in place by 11:59 p.m. Friday 7 August 2020. Click here for more information
- The Construction sector may continue to operate and must do so safely. If it is safe to do so, the number of people on a construction site must be reduced to 25 per cent of the normal workforce onsite
- Small-scale construction will be limited to a maximum of five people onsite
- The most practical minimum number of workers are permitted on Government projects
- Workplaces that are continuing to operate will also have additional requirements including extra PPE, staggering shifts, staggering breaks, health declarations and more support for sick workers to ensure they stay home
- Businesses in regional Victoria can apply for a $5,000 grant while those in Melbourne and Mitchell Shire can apply for up to $10,000 in recognition of spending longer under restrictions, see here for information on how to apply
As always, we are here to provide additional assistance through up to date information, CICA Assist, and health and other resources.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if we can help you in any way.
Together we will get through this, stay safe.
